Laura died tragically after she fell 30ft onto rocks at a waterfall in Dumfries and Galloway. She
was taking part in a pool jumping activity with a group of teenagers.
Laura was a pupil at William Howard School im Brampton.

Her parents Sheila, a Wetheral play school leader and Brian, a documentary filmmaker, were at her
bedside.

Headteacher Clive Bush yesterday spoke of his sorrow at the loss of a popular pupil.

He said: She was very bright and very well-liked. She was very popular with lots of good friends.
She was quiet, but had a great sense of humour.

The school wishes to extend its sympathy to Laura's family. We are very, very sorry to hear
this and there will be a lot of very upset people at the school.

We will do everything we can to support Lauras two sisters when they return to school.

Laura had a twin sister Rose, elder sister Alice and elder brother Peter.

The family lived in Wetheral, near Carlisle.

Little message

Years may have passed but we'll always remember the brilliant times we've had with you
Like Wetheriggs Pottery, Amy Parr's Arty farty jungle party!, the swimming party you & Rosie had one year, the time we made smiley faces on pizza ..all of it really
We'll miss every second of every minute of everyday that we could have spent with you in our lives
But atleast we were lucky enough to have such a beautiful wonderful girl like you in our lives even if it wasn't for long.
Everyone misses you so so much
I hope your still with us even if we can't see you, we'll always remember you love you and cherish you Laura
All the years through Cumwhinton, and through William Howard everyone changed but you were always the one wonderful girl who stayed exactly the same, and you're perfect that way. In spring time we were planning on growing a sunflower just for you, like the ones you & rosie planted in the garden one year. And with each spring they'll get taller and prettier, just like you would have.
You live in all of us Laura
We love you, for all our lives and we will never forget you

I have lots of great memories of Laura and I think this is one of my best for showing how special and wonderful she is.

I went to the skatepark at Carlisle with her regularly, and one morning we were there with Kathy and Sandy. None of us a very good at skating, but we found it fun and amusing. Laura was trying to go up the smallest ramp there when she lost her skateboard from underneath her and fell over. She was fine and we all stood their laughing. Although it was clear she had fallen over she was lying there insisting she hadn't, she said that she was 'just doing press-ups' and pushed a few out before collapsing nakered. Both Sandy and I ended up falling over as well. Kathy didn't but she never seems to, whether on a skateboard or rollerblades.

This is one of the many happy times I got to spend with Laura. She was a great friend and I miss her loads. RIP Laura. xxxxxxx

I only just now discovered this site, I'm happy it has been made and thankyou greatly for doing this. It's a beautiful way to remember Laura.
I went to primary with Laura & Rosie since we were 4 i remember standing outside in the pouring rain all over us huddeling underneath parents jackets and long coats to keep warm but we instantly bonded.
we had been best friends for many years, however when leaving primary school in 2002 we lost contact till i swapped secondary schools and came to william howard.
I wish so much that we hadnt lost those 3 years together to enjoy more laughs love and brilliant friendship, but even though Laura has gone she is still with us, all of us every moment of every minute of every day.
Theres not a day goes past when i dont think of her and miss her so so much
I wish i could have said goodbye properly.
I attended the funeral and it was beautiful, having the lord of the rings music play that she had such a passion for reading and Tolkiens work it was just so sweet.
I miss you Laura
& I love you
for always

For those of us who were lucky enough to be part of her life, she is a light that will never go out. Try to do something every day that takes our breath away!
